Resolution Check: February 2012

HERE WE ARE…Second month of the year and I’m ready and tackling! What I’ve done this year so far:image

1. Write one song as inspired by a letter I received last year. Have guitar, have keyboard, have brain, will write. Okay. Wording down. Remembering those guitar chords next. See below this blog for words. Critique always loved.

2. Complete one set of hats that I’ve promised, supplies in hand. Sit down and do it! – Okay…okay, total fail here. I’ve been super busy or super tired or even super January-usual sick. Now I’m back, and hopefully tackling more of this in February.

3. Complete one pair of heels that I’ve got in mind. Life is too short to not have custom shoes!:) – I believe I have my base shoe selected but I’m still making sure the right idea is all my own and not a copy. Several things still milling around, but far from being done!

4. Complete my novel and don’t let it get past me again. In fact, I’ve bought a bag for my computer, cafes are all around for me to plug into, and this WILL happen. – I’ve got MS Office downloaded. I’ve got my novel on the hard drive. Now…finding a cafe and time.

5. Tone my body more by taking on different exercises – 40 leg lifts a day after my work out’s normal 40. Plus find an ab and arm regimen for a few minutes each day. – I’m doing bouts of this but not the best every day. I’ve started to make sure I’m mixing it up a little and pushing myself a little more.

6. Take a trip – maybe it won’t be Italy. But I need to continue seeing the world. – Right now this is questionable this year. However, 2013 will have a GREAT surprise. Mom has decided we can do a trip to New York. I’m so excited to show her the country, this is once-in-a-lifetime for me, and I’m making sure it happens!

7. Continue to build confidence – every day – continue the mantra, continue to be a better person! Enjoying work for this endeavor, definitely seeing happy faces and contributing to projects and starting to feel less like a “newbie” and more like I’m getting it is super motivating! Outside of the work realm, I’m building, and it’s not in a day, but it’s definitely changing my emotions and the way I’m attacking life!

8. Spend more time with Alice & Ralph – the fuzzies in my life need more bonding! Alice needs to get happy for sure! Ralph is learning some great things – I want to join in! Spent some time at the dog park this weekend – Ralph gets a little cranky with the little dogs. I’m starting to feel the “Great Dane” needs bubble back up. I just bought a new car and made sure the back seat was “big dog friendly”….will continue to see what life holds before committing to that project.

9. Not overloading myself.  Stop and smell the roses. So, cutting the resolutions by 25%. This year is about relaxing fun too. – I’ve been doing a lot of laying down, I can’t seem to find energy, it’s been somewhat of a gloomy January. Hopefully the wonderful sunshine will start to perk me up.

She’s done with her old life, Good Lord knows she needs a break, She’s shakin her demons off,She’s offloading their weight.
No clue what to do next, She lifts her head to the sky, Falls to her knees,Just wants to know “why?”
Changing channels ain’t so bad, The things you needed are now at hand. You can get what you want, But make sure you want what you get,Life’s got direction, and she’s going with it.
Finding direction, And gaining some ground, She starts to see, What will turn life around.
She knows she’s changing channels, Change takes switching gears,D@mn, she’s gonna do it,Just watch her while she steers.
Changing channels ain’t so bad, The things you needed are now at hand. You can get what you want, But make sure you want what you get,Life’s got direction, and she’s going with it.
Folks say she’s crazy, Muddling truth with their lies, Let them all laugh, She’ll keep her eye on the prize
That’s ok. She’s ready for a new life. And Lord knows….they won’t be in it.
Changing channels ain’t so bad, The things you needed are now at hand. You can get what you want, But make sure you want what you get,Life’s got direction, and she’s going with it.
