Something I personally love love love doing with leftover wine? Making sangria. If I’ve had a party where inevitably the civil war of red v. white ensues, I love taking frozen or fresh fruits that I may have used in the party’s food (I always try to plan a little fruit so I can have any leftovers for Sunday brunch the next day) and make up a sangria. Is it trashy to mix the wines? Probably so, but if you take a little flavored seltzer water (I like citrus tones), plus fruit and the wines, it’s really a nice twist that uses up the shards and half-glasses that may remain.
Reduce leftover wine to a syrup. Drizzle over waffles, ice cream, and more for a tasty treat.
